Well, here we have a song that was not inspired by
an event or a person. I just thought that the term "Pop A Wheelie"
was pretty funny sounding so I decided that I had to write a song with
that as its title. I think that I wrote this one in late 1994.
I'm pretty sure that I played my demo for Derek and Gabe. Walter
had already left. That would have put us in the period where Gulshen
was playing guitar. Unfortunately, the song wasn't actually played
by SDFS until John and Lionel started playing with us. It's a fun
song. It also happens to be the favourite of my former Castrated
Turnip partner Ian (now with Micky Christ). I'd have to say that
the falsetto oooh-oooh-oooh vocal part was inspired by The Hard-Ons' "Surfin'
On My Face" which is a damn fine song that everyone should hear sometime.
This was, by the way, the first track that we recorded during the Anatomically
Incorrect sessions. I have fond memories singing this in Ron's bathroom,
where we started doing the vocals before moving into the basement.
